Both examples were great! I chose to do a card similar to Jennifer McGuire's, and made a shaker card that contains a gift card that can be opened by the recipient. I also loved the demonstration by Caly Person, and when I have more time I will certainly make it. What I loved about it, was you didn't need special dies or tools to make it. </p><p>The only trouble I had was finding packaging I hadn't thrown away. I did find one that I could use and it worked well. I also made a gift card, since I didn't have one available, so that is totally fake btw. lol I created the background from a dot stencil, using Oxide inks.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUx-3gdVwufFFqQm0ZtFK9PlYwdxiOVEOIh7hpUkECf2ELkkn1pr08wLBBGu0iqaDBE6oUYCb6ZZNJbA9GF0PUSVkrDNOZWOlLxLd3DGiLjjghpNM115wCOAn5tKy7wC7IJWr1LRDBAM0n65Xglv2phGKvh7CYRgEpOih9Sw9wkyxaIY3MntlothVU/s2291/100_6138.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2291" data-original-width="2118" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjUx-3gdVwufFFqQm0ZtFK9PlYwdxiOVEOIh7hpUkECf2ELkkn1pr08wLBBGu0iqaDBE6oUYCb6ZZNJbA9GF0PUSVkrDNOZWOlLxLd3DGiLjjghpNM115wCOAn5tKy7wC7IJWr1LRDBAM0n65Xglv2phGKvh7CYRgEpOih9Sw9wkyxaIY3MntlothVU/w370-h400/100_6138.JPG" width="370" /></a></div><br /><p>Used:</p><p>Old packaging from a stamp set, SSS HoHoHo tag die, gold glitter paper behind the die, and various sequings. I love snowflakes and make a lot of cards with them. I made a card using die cut snowflakes and a snowflake cover plate. I love the shine on this card. It is one of my favorites. I die cut the snowflake 4 times from white cardstock, gluing two together, and then cutting one from glitter cardstock. I staggered them all to create some dimension. I used some baubles in different areas of the snowflake. I cut the cover plate from glitter cardstock too. I have really enjoyed this class, I have learned a lot of new techniques, and you really didn't have to have any special equipment, just the basics. I am sure I will use these techniques many times in the future.</p><p>Today's lesson was Rainbows and Patterns. I really loved the demonstration by Gina K., and chose to do a card similar to her technique. Here is my card:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrUEGrsd-xdF7INiiPiSeWk0IUuFfi77axBaJHqYcQ8U-EdWVy6059hKVd-1y9Pmtu_MDC87yba_bK3TtoTArI16OeFlcPcslxFzYUT6plNmHKvnI2ExGlvH0Dqpwp4rJa7Bf3poh3VGzdDOO_a6eCOgc0XV4x3Y11A6_WBwW0MfcdioE5top7O923/s2183/OCC%20Day%2010.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2148" data-original-width="2183" height="394" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrUEGrsd-xdF7INiiPiSeWk0IUuFfi77axBaJHqYcQ8U-EdWVy6059hKVd-1y9Pmtu_MDC87yba_bK3TtoTArI16OeFlcPcslxFzYUT6plNmHKvnI2ExGlvH0Dqpwp4rJa7Bf3poh3VGzdDOO_a6eCOgc0XV4x3Y11A6_WBwW0MfcdioE5top7O923/w400-h394/OCC%20Day%2010.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>Thanks for looking...</p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-44211515250528129982022-05-26T15:46:00.001-04:002022-05-26T15:46:46.746-04:00OCC Day 9-Spring Card Camp 2022<p> Todays lesson was inlay die cuts and stacked offset die cuts. I wanted to do the technique demonstrated by Jennifer McGuire, which was inlay die cuts. I have to tell you that I was a little apprehensive about doing the die cuts. I was thinking I would have to do the inlay die cuts several times to get them right. Well...I did it the first time I tried! Yay. Jennifer does make things look so easy and she is a good teacher. Here is what I made:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm04ZJgEY-RKpvskbEu3i2nI8HyWfH7KKf_alWt5SjX1sFOE4_kBwc4dlDq9AsCQs_qTiZbAUd2wadRNsg_UsHvmvGZlv1UR-9lkBjb6X4uRTJuOyPVtfanBWR1RBjDP0wtq6_5azpKDpKyIOFt7irql98JS1y3xIpNAWEFbaZqLsa8IR-7rwtgTDI/s2200/OCC%20Day%209.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2200" data-original-width="1974" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgm04ZJgEY-RKpvskbEu3i2nI8HyWfH7KKf_alWt5SjX1sFOE4_kBwc4dlDq9AsCQs_qTiZbAUd2wadRNsg_UsHvmvGZlv1UR-9lkBjb6X4uRTJuOyPVtfanBWR1RBjDP0wtq6_5azpKDpKyIOFt7irql98JS1y3xIpNAWEFbaZqLsa8IR-7rwtgTDI/w359-h400/OCC%20Day%209.JPG" width="359" /></a></div><div><br /></div>I ink blended the flowers and leaves with Distress Oxides. The sentiment is black card stock. I really liked doing this technique, and probably use it more in the future. I did cut a lot of flowers and leaves so I can make another in no time at all. That was my failsafe in case I made mistakes. :)<div><br /></div><div>Thanks for looking....</div><div><p><br /></p></div>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-68198768946479902112022-05-25T17:05:00.000-04:002022-05-25T17:05:45.257-04:00OCC Day 8-Spring Card Camp 2022<p> Hi,</p><p>Today was Pretty Die Cut Flowers. We were shown two different techniques on how to stamp a wreath. Both were beautiful examples. I have done free form wreaths before and, tbh, I am not very good at it. lol But I gave it my best shot. There are techniques that I am not familiar with and, so far, they are really easy to do. Today, I chose to do the technique demonstrated by Cathy Zielske. It is called the Joseph's Coat technique, and I had never heard of it, and I love it. Let me tell you, I was very nervous when I first applied the black ink, but it all turned out well. lol Here is what I made:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnuXFAqk789viQ_t4MbEo5-XBCFB4fhDccP4lnUNV7I-JkuTQW54W_Fn6TBGfmsWDxZ7AC_Rr1YH33RYcYZHxymwGEhriilMFu2dTz444-wR6uTqjomWPIAYs12IdYbEP_rLSNMkg0UcULC8h8BAb-KTQtrPyfF2ZrZ6sJCSfB5eb47btZ-Wn3y2cs/s2291/OCC%202.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="2291" data-original-width="2032" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhnuXFAqk789viQ_t4MbEo5-XBCFB4fhDccP4lnUNV7I-JkuTQW54W_Fn6TBGfmsWDxZ7AC_Rr1YH33RYcYZHxymwGEhriilMFu2dTz444-wR6uTqjomWPIAYs12IdYbEP_rLSNMkg0UcULC8h8BAb-KTQtrPyfF2ZrZ6sJCSfB5eb47btZ-Wn3y2cs/w355-h400/OCC%202.JPG" width="355" /></a></div><br /><p>I used Distress Oxides Ripe Persimmon, Mustard Seed and Worn Lipstick. I wish I had used a darker color than Warm Lipstick for better contrast, but overall I am pleased with the results. I used the Lawn Fawn Hey Lady Stamp set for the images. I loved this technique and I'll definitely use it on future projects.</p><p>Thanks for looking!</p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-73084123846895400752021-11-12T16:12:00.000-05:002021-11-12T16:12:23.218-05:00Online Card Class-Day 12-Holiday Card Workshop<p> Hi, </p><p>Today's lesson was Storybook Coloring. This is a different way to approach copic coloring. I liked it a lot but wasn't sure how quick I could adapt to it. As I was coloring the image I found myself falling into typical copic coloring and had to stop and start again. </p><p>This is not a Christmas stamp, but I love it so much and want to use it as much as I can. I felt it could definitely be a Christmas scene, just needed a little tweaking, adding falling snow helped.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglClxZg_Ud6dQk2xpixiLr9JpDkK3aUst0eTld6jbLHRpqljGLvlFc6cjffocwoe0CBq7WXaMaNbnYXtHYoZ4HffSeDWCJdYvvCLC2a5rsh-EuzEYQ1Sipx1r12ySGAS2i1eTE-7ZxByE/s640/Card+1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="530" data-original-width="640" height="331" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEglClxZg_Ud6dQk2xpixiLr9JpDkK3aUst0eTld6jbLHRpqljGLvlFc6cjffocwoe0CBq7WXaMaNbnYXtHYoZ4HffSeDWCJdYvvCLC2a5rsh-EuzEYQ1Sipx1r12ySGAS2i1eTE-7ZxByE/w400-h331/Card+1.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>I don't think I quite got the coloring style, but I'll practice. </p><p>Thanks for stopping....</p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-80676082464836899662021-11-11T16:47:00.001-05:002021-11-11T16:47:23.000-05:00Online Card Class-Day 11-Holiday Card Workshop<p> The lesson today was Just Add Snow. I love adding snow to projects and do try to find different ways to get it on my cards. </p><p>I made this card with a snow pen. Now I have two of these pens and neither one of them worked all that well. They are kinda old, but I got as much as I could get out of them. I added it to the letters. I die cut snowflakes and added embossing glitter, which unfortunately did not photo very well. :(. I added a penguin and a little snowball to his cap.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW5i3vVbzZv6EDX8knIe9Rg-p1vtSxTra4UzrmF9GABj0c0AXETQxaYg6APUaMjgCWlup500emMEjWkoyCRPUSsdZGjE93hMfxz6nhfbZcTfy3a432j6LbynAWZxazZSYP_K4bDNfG4Nk/s640/OCC+11.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="505" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiW5i3vVbzZv6EDX8knIe9Rg-p1vtSxTra4UzrmF9GABj0c0AXETQxaYg6APUaMjgCWlup500emMEjWkoyCRPUSsdZGjE93hMfxz6nhfbZcTfy3a432j6LbynAWZxazZSYP_K4bDNfG4Nk/w316-h400/OCC+11.jpg" width="316" /></a></div><br /><p>That's all for today.....</p><p><br /></p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-34915032725970802872021-11-10T16:13:00.000-05:002021-11-10T16:13:06.399-05:00Online Card Class-Day 10-Holiday Card Workshop<p> </p><p>Today's lesson was Stencil Resist. Two techniques were demonstrated. I chose the technique using texture paste and a stencil on watercolor paper and watercolor markers. </p><p>After the paste was dried, I used Zig markers, in shades of green, and painted in the area between the design. I sprayed it with water and let the water spread the color. After everything was dry, I cut a sentiment from red metallic paper and used foam dots to adhere it the card front. </p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbg2H5gkN0AaY8UFy3Hx_xJitGBQoFVX-hNCQQOYu2-OrCon_K-kyHy0BmmeEQuzbrKrOlm9NqoIVmAX_vCYx4YljHDWldv6tq_L4uouVI_UbbLrRmU_WtePu8uqDf2Xutra81LwYNEmI/s640/OCC+10.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="480" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgbg2H5gkN0AaY8UFy3Hx_xJitGBQoFVX-hNCQQOYu2-OrCon_K-kyHy0BmmeEQuzbrKrOlm9NqoIVmAX_vCYx4YljHDWldv6tq_L4uouVI_UbbLrRmU_WtePu8uqDf2Xutra81LwYNEmI/w300-h400/OCC+10.jpg" width="300" /></a></div><br /><p>The second technique was to use a stencil on watercolor paper that had been blended with distress inks and using a baby wipe or wet paper towel to lift the ink up through the stencil. Honestly I tried this a couple of times, and all I got were blobs, lol! I think I need to practice!</p><p>Thanks for stopping....</p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-27629326105764566712021-11-09T16:34:00.002-05:002021-11-09T16:34:46.832-05:00Online Card Class-Day 9-Holiday Card Workshop<p> Today's lesson was hot foiling and coloring with either copics, pencils, or watercolor. I don't have a hot foil system, but it was suggested that if you don't that you could emboss and then color an image. I decided to emboss an image in gold and then colored it with copics. I embossed the greeting too and used some gold splashes on the card.</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJkBsQNQy5o0iN0WflONrGAodG4JuYZR9dll4KUQi0PlmschOq6Yl-__rsektmY12M0nepGHsyoubNZ6obqTjWudZFZBW4cuBE6dDawrJz1j1jqs0t4uFOZTMUAhLR7X7yGvGMcDymrIo/s640/OCC+9.2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="640" data-original-width="495" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJkBsQNQy5o0iN0WflONrGAodG4JuYZR9dll4KUQi0PlmschOq6Yl-__rsektmY12M0nepGHsyoubNZ6obqTjWudZFZBW4cuBE6dDawrJz1j1jqs0t4uFOZTMUAhLR7X7yGvGMcDymrIo/w310-h400/OCC+9.2.jpg" width="310" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><div><br /></div>Have a great day....<br /><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div><br /><p><br /></p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2768341534349527599.post-67775120881069770242021-11-08T15:19:00.000-05:002021-11-08T15:19:56.671-05:00Online Card Class-Day 8-Holiday Card Workshop<p> Today's lesson was Themed Envelopes. I love mail art and try to catch any video that demonstrates it. Kristina Werner made an envelope using alcohol inks. I did not have Yupo paper in the size she used and not any big enough to make an envelope, but I did enjoy what she made, but couldn't reproduce it right now. Nathifa Sligh demonstrated another envelope example done with watercolor paper. </p><p>I used a stencil and created a winter themed scene on the front of a A2 card sized envelope. I used my We are Memory Keepers envelope punch board to make the envelope. This was pretty easy but it is also a simple scene. I think if you were going to mass produce envelopes for your cards, a simple scene would work the best.</p><p>Here is what I made:</p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA8wi1V2nPLq9yZaq6hegNTAwWss6uiJGm0-EyadutUYhzy6Gh2JwfFsB74sqnyWol1wZF2YR1zwZYEDo4WxaaGuYlj61ZZqIuVr9e-amWRIEI8QMkx29BKDmDg1MXn7ZM54Ttmcw_Zdk/s2048/OCC+8.JPG" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="1536" data-original-width="2048" height="300" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjA8wi1V2nPLq9yZaq6hegNTAwWss6uiJGm0-EyadutUYhzy6Gh2JwfFsB74sqnyWol1wZF2YR1zwZYEDo4WxaaGuYlj61ZZqIuVr9e-amWRIEI8QMkx29BKDmDg1MXn7ZM54Ttmcw_Zdk/w400-h300/OCC+8.JPG" width="400" /></a></div><br /><p>Thanks for stopping....</p>Janet D.http://www.blogger.com/profile/10616391094383987368noreply@blogger.com0
