CAS(E) this Sketch #174

This week's CAS(E) this Sketch challenge features this sketch:

Great sketch!

This came to mind when I saw the sketch. I was pretty sure that I had a beehive stamp, but I couldn't find it. :-)  I really wanted to make this card so I ended up drawing the beehive, I looked up some images and then just copied one. I used Prismacolor pencils to color the images and highlighted with a white gel pen. I layered the card front onto black cardstock and then onto a kraft cardbase.

Thanks and I'll be back soon.

Supplies Used: Stamps: Purple Onion-tree limb, Unity-bees and Simon Says Stamp-sentiment.

Birthday-Bright and Shiny

I plan to enter today's card in a couple of challenges.

I used Lawn Fawn's Let's Bokeh, and stamped the circles in Versamark and embossed with Ranger Plantinum Embossing powder.  I also embossed the sentiment.  Then I stamped the circles with different colored inks.  I scattered sequins on the card front.  I did this first in gold embossing powder but I didn't like it, so I did it again as you see it here.

Thanks! I'll be back soon.

Paper Smooches May Challenge

The May Challenge for Paper Smooches is Rainbows!

I am not one to usually use a lot of color so this was a challenge for me in another way too! :-0.

I had an idea about the card I was going to make and it kinda all fell into place once I started.

Now I have a love of mason jars that is kinda uncontrollable, so if I can use a mason jar I will. :)  I have always loved Paper Smooches' Crystal Clear, it is by far one of my favorite stamp sets. I stamped the mason jar, die cut it and then colored it with copics. After stamping each of the hydrangeas in a different color (I stamped in a light color then a darker color around the edges, for dimension).  I adhered all images with foam squares.  I really like the way this turned out, it is definitely colorful (for me anyway).

Thanks and see you next time!!
