Paper Smooches SPARKS Final Challenge

This will be Paper Smooches SPARKS final blog challenge.  It is a Designer Drafts challenge.

I am trying to post this in between answering the door for trick or treater's.

I wanted to make a scene of the Christmas tree being decorated, you know hauling all the decorations from storage and sorting through them.  This was never an organized event when the kids were little, I really don't know how the tree got decorated at all! :)

The Paper Smooches stamp sets I used on this card were Holly Jolly, Winter Groves and Green Thumb.  I used the seed packet in Green Thumb to make the box for the 'christmas decorations' and the sentiment is from Holly Jolly, the rest of the images were mostly from Winter Groves.  I distressed the blocks and adhered them to the card front.  I Copic colored the decorations and used glossy accents to make them shine.  The garland is heat embossed with gold embossing powder.

I hope you like and thanks for stopping by.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Oct 18-24

This is actually the next to last challenge for Paper Smooches SPARKS blog.  It is sad. :(  I have really enjoyed these challenges because I love Paper Smooches products so much.  I think I read that they may have another challenge blog for Paper Smooches but I don't have any details, but I hope it happens!!  This challenge is Anything Goes, which is one of my favorite challenges because you can really do anything!  HA

I wanted to make a holiday card and this is what came to mind.

There is no stamping on this card!  All of the images are die cuts, using Paper Smooches Ornaments and Christmas Words 2 dies.  After die cutting the ornament I colored it with Copics, and covered it with Wink of Stella and glossy accents.  The top of the ornament (I'm not sure what that is called) is heat embossed with platinum embossing powder.  The sentiment is heat embossed with glitter embossing powder, and I used a colored gem to dot the i. The holly leaves and berries are Copic colored and I coated the berries with red Stickles. This is amazingly shiny IRL, I wish the photo showed it more. This took a little time because of the drying time involved, but I really like the way it turned out.

Thanks for stopping by.

Supplies: Dies: Paper Smooches Ornaments and Christmas Word Dies 2. Embossing Powder: Ranger Platinum embossing powder and Ranger Red Glitter embossing powder.

Freshly Made Sketches # 208

This week's Freshly Made Sketch Challenge features this sketch.

This is how I interpreted the sketch on my card.

I created a background on water color paper using distress inks, and die cut it. I also splattered it with water and with more distress ink.    I die cut the frames from vellum and used distress ink to color them.  I don't know why I never thought to do this before not only do I like the look but it helps to hide the adhesive used to attach it to the card front.  I used Kool Tak and I can't see it at all. Yay!! I colored all the images with Copics and attached with foam squares.

Thanks for coming by, I'll be back soon.

Supplies: Ranger Distress Inks: Cracked Pistachio, Evergreen Bough, Tumbled Glass (background), Stormy Sky (frames).  Stamps: Paper Smooches Green Thumb (watercan), Technique Tuesday Grow Happy (flower), Altenew Sketchy Cities America (sentiment).Dies: Sizzix Scalloped Frame, SSS Stiched Frames.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Oct. 11-17

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge this week is a Picture Perfect Challenge.

I really liked the colors in this picture but went in a totally different direction. :)  This is what I decided to make.

I used distress inks to blend the background.  The 'moon' is a diecut circle and inked with distress inks.  The bats were die cut and colored with Copics.  I added Wink of Stella Clear to all of the images, and I think you can actually see it a bit. :)  The sentiment is heat embossed in white.  I really liked the way this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon.

Supplies:Paper Smooches Halloween Icons dies (bats), Ranger Distress Inks Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky (sky), Squeezed Lemonade and Wild Honey (moon), Hero Arts Embossing Powder, Copics: C4,C7.

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #144

CAS(E) this Sketch #144 features this sketch this week.

When I saw the sketch I immediately got an idea for a design, this is what I did.

The trick now was finding the candle image.  Every image I had was a little too big, until I found this one tucked away on a stamp set from Hero Arts.  I stamped the image in different color inks and then used gold ink for the flames.  The sentiment is heat embossed with gold embossing powder and mounted on a black strip.  The frame is die cut with a stitched die cut, as is the front panel.  I was so happy that I could take this picture in direct light, we treasure our sunny days in  NE Ohio!!

Thanks for coming by and I am off to make cookies for my granddaughter's birthday party tomorrow.  See ya soon.

Supplies: Hero Arts stamp (images), Papertrey Ink stamp (sentiment)Momento Inks, Neenah cardstock, Ranger Gold embossing powder, DewDrop Brilliance ink, SSS Stitched Frames diecut.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Oct. 4-10

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge is Anything Goes this week.

The idea for this card came to me in a dream.  This isn't the first time I've dreamed about a card design. :)

I heat embossed the image and sentiment with gold embossing powder and then colored with pencils.    I die cut the kraft cardstock panel and then mounted it on fun foam to give it dimension and attached it to the card front.  This did turn out a  lot like my dream, and I enjoyed making it :)

Thanks for coming by and have a great day........

Supplies Stamps: Paper Smooches Blossoming Buds and Lovely Thoughts, Ranger Gold Embossing Powder, Faber Castell colored pencils, SSS postage stamp dies.
