Freshly Made Sketches 160 Challenge

Freshly Made Sketches 160 Challenge  sketch for this week is:
This is a great sketch, and this is how I interpreted it.

I used a Memory Box die cut to create the wreath and the birds.  I used silver foil and a coordinating patterned paper for the tag shape.  Soooo did you know that when you try to photograph silver foil that it reflects whatever is in front of it.  Ha, yep that is my reflection on the right side of the photograph in the silver foil. :)  I tried it from every angle and this is the best I could get it.  I added a few crystals because it seemed to need a little something.   I do like the way this turned out.

Thanks for stopping by and everyone have a Happy Halloween and a great weekend!!

CAS(E) this Sketch #98

CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #98 is this sketch.

This sketch has a lot of possibilities and I had a lot of ideas.  I decided to make this card.

This is a Memory Box stamp and die cut.  The image is cut from kraft card stock and colored with copics.  I tied a bit of twine and added some enamel dots to the card.  I have always like this image and it can be used for any season. Hope you like. :)
Thanks for stopping by, see ya later.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge Oct 26-Nov 1

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge this week is a Designer Drafts Challenge.

 This is the October Sketch:
This is the card that I made:

I used embossing paste and a stencil for the card base, and then used distressed ink all over the front.  I used Paper Smooches Christmas Ornaments die to cut the ornament, top and hanger from silver foil card stock.  I actually bought the silver card stock by mistake and now I am glad that I did!.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches Christmas Words 2.  I can't remember where the tinsel came from but this is the first chance I have had to use it, and it worked well. :)

Supplies used:  Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow Stencil, Tim Holtz Evergreen Bough distress ink, Wendy Vecchi Embossing Paste

My granddaughters 1st birthday was yesterday and hopefully I will have a little more time to craft now.  These are a few of the decorations from the party that I made and I also made the pumpkin cake and cupcakes.

Glad you stopped by.

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge: Oct 19-25

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge for this week is Anything Goes.

I have been so super busy this week, I was out of town last weekend  and when I got back I needed to finish preparing for my granddaughters 1st birthday.   I made paper tassels to string on the tables, now if you have made these you know they aren't hard but,  boy they can take some time to make. Making a lot of the other decorations plus her birthday cake. My daughter wanted a pumpkin shaped cake to go along with her "Fairytale" theme (Cinderella's coach).  ALSO I made a costume to wear since I am her "Fairy Grandmother" for the party. :)

I will show some pics of everything after the party.  I did make the following card for this challenge.

I  didn't use any stamps for this card.  I stenciled some dots on the card base and used Paper Smooches Thanks die and also PS Balloon dies.  I tied some twine to the 'thanks' and added balloons.  I wanted it to look like the balloons were making the 'thanks' float.

Hope you like and hope to be back soon.

October 10th

I made this card to enter into the Lawnscaping Patterned Paper Challenge  and the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #96.

I tend to hoard patterned paper and when I use it on a card I feel like I have to go buy more. :) Honestly I do have an obsession about it.

The sketch for CAS(E) this Sketch #96 is the following:

This is the card I made:
I made this with mostly Lawn Fawn products, the patterned paper, stitched leaf dies, and some of the sequins are Lawn Fawn.  The greeting is from Simon Says Stamp Autumn Blessings for their Stamptember event.  Lots of great stuff this month at Simon Says Stamp.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC Copic Markers for Cardmakers-Day 13

Day 13 was the last day of classes :(.  The "homework" was to just have fun!  I decided to make this card:

I colored the image from Penny Black Sweet Beginnings with copics and then I decided to make a shaker card. It was so nice to just color and kinda know what I was doing. :)  This whole stamp set has the cutest images.  Mostly I use it for baby showers, baby birthdays etc.

I just added a few enamel dots to finish it off.

See ya later!

OCC Copic Markers for Cardmakers Day 12

Today's lesson was on copic storage.  I don't have a lot of markers so I just bought some bins from Michaels and store the markers in those.  I am trying to persuade my husband to build a cubby to hold them all, because I do plan to grow my collection.

This is a pic of my storage.

I labeled the bins with the letter coding used by Copic. Some of the markers are doubled up in the same bin, because there is room. :)

See ya later!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Oct 5-11

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge is Anything Goes  for this week.

I didn't think I would be done with this card to post it today, but I did!  This is my card for the challenge.

I created the pine tree with the pine branch stamp in the Paper Smooches Holly Jolly stamp set, in two different colors.  I drew the tree trunk because I really couldn't find a stamp I liked for it.  The owl is from PS Chubby Chums, he is colored with copics and mounted on some foam squares.   The sentiment is with the PS Alpha Dot set.

I kept asking my husband, "Does it look like a pine tree?"  He kept saying yes, so I hope you think so too.  I do like the way this turned out, because I really wasn't sure at first. :)

CAS(E) this Sketch #95

This week and last week have been very busy and I feel like I am so behind.   I did manage to find a little time to craft.

CAS(E) this Sketch #95 challenge  this week uses the following sketch for inspiration.

This is how the sketch inspired me.

I put washi tape on the card front and die cut the hello sentiment several times and then glued them together for dimension.  The arrow is a chipboard arrow that I had colored with a copic marker and then applied clear Wink of Stella and glossy accents.

See ya later!

OCC Copic Markers for Cardmakers-Day 11

I'm a little late posting this, time got away from me yesterday.  I colored a card for my husband's birthday.

My husband is a fisherman, he fishes from a boat though, and this stamp made me think of him and I bought it with him in mind.   The lesson from Day 11 focused on fixing your mistakes.  I did have a error on the chair arm where the vest color bled into the chair arm.  I removed as much as I could with the colorless blender and then shaded it a big more with W1 and I don't see the error at all.   I love this stamp from Art Impressions, it is a hoot!

Have a great day!

OCC Copic Markers for Cardmakers-Day 10

Day 10's lesson focused on adding finishing touches to your project.  I have to say that I felt a lot more confident coloring this image and not so tense.  Ha!  I chose to do a stamp from Art Impressions,  I love their character stamps.

For my finishing touches to this image after coloring, I added the dots on the penguins scarves with a white gel pen.  I went around the penguins with a copic multi liner to define their bodies a little more.  I added white gel pen to the bulbs to highlight, and then added clear Wink of Stella to the bulbs and the star.   That was it.  I like the way it turned out.  I am so glad I took this class.  I know there is a lot of practice ahead but I like what I can do so far.  There are only a few classes left, but it has been very worthwhile.

I actually did this yesterday, but it was so stormy here I couldn't get very good light for the photo, BUT sunshine today!!

Thanks for coming by.

OCC Copic Makers for Cardmakers Day 9

Today's class focused on creating backgrounds with copic markers.  The card creations today were fantastic.  I think it will take me awhile and a lot of practice to create backgrounds. I did color a card and this is is:

The images are from Purple Onion and the sentiment is from Winnie and Walter.  I forgot to write down which colors I used to color this :(  I guess I will have to get into that habit.  I enjoyed coloring this image although the birds were smaller than I was used to coloring.   I probably should have spent more time on the shading of the birds, but they were so small I thought that bleeding would occur and it would be a big mess.  I had already had scrapped a couple of attempts to color this.

This is not the background I intended on creating, it kinda morphed into this.  Like I said backgrounds take some practice. :/  All in all I think it came out pretty well.

Thanks for stopping by.

OCC Copic Markers for Cardmakers-Day 8

Today's lesson in the  Copic Marker Online Card class was on on how to use a copic blender pen to create soft lines and accent your image.  The teachers also used their colored images, from the lessons, to create a card and they encouraged us to create a card from what we have colored.

This is what I made from the image I colored on the practice sheets from class.

I fussy cut the robot vampire and  robot bat and  mounted them on foam squares.   This is such a cute image!  I cut a rectangle from the black cardstock and cut a bigger rectangle from the patterned cardstock to set behind it.   I embossed the sentiment on the black cardstock.

See ya later!!
