OCC Color Theory-Day 2

A LOT of information today, of the best kind!  Monochrome and Analogous color schemes were featured today.  I loved all the examples of what was demonstrated today.  I decided to create a card using the Analogous color scheme.  I really do LOVE the blue green color group, and the examples were beautiful, and almost went with it, but  I went in another direction.  I decided on the red, orange and yellow combo.

This is the color swatch for my card, please note that the 3rd color and 4th color should be switched on the chart, I was  so eager to get them down on paper and I mixed them up! lol  Live and learn.  I followed this chart to create my card.

I water colored two pieces of Canson Cold Pressed water color paper.  One I used for the background. I added paint splatters in the same color scheme.    I cut leaves with the Lawn Fawn Stitched Leaves die from the second piece.  I glued some of the leaves straight on the paper and mounted others on foam squares.  The sentiment is embossed in white on black card stock, cut with a banner die and attached with foam squares.   I added a few sequins, because I like sequins. :).

One more day of class, it went really quickly, but I have learned quite a bit and am really enjoying it.

See you soon.....

  2. Lovely card and I can see why they say the analogous colors are harmonious and pleasing to the eye.
