Some Sunday Cards.....

I have been working on Easter cards this week and have made a few that I  wanted  to post.  This is the card I made my granddaughter this year.  She is only 17 mos. old but her Mom (my daughter) keeps all the cards I send her so she can show her when she is older. :)

I used the Art Impressions Kate stamp and Simon Says Stamp Balloon die. I paper pieced the outfit for 'Kate' and added the balloon. 'Kate' and the balloon are colored with Copics and the greeting on the balloon is made with Lawn Fawn Clark's ABC's stamps.

This card is for my grandson, who is 8 years old,  so I can't make anything too baby-ish! :-)  So hopefully this fits the bill.

This is made from Mama Elephants Hunny Bunny stamp set, and two stamp sets from Lawn Fawn-Milo's ABC's and Happy Everything.  The bunny is colored with Copics, cut out and mounted on foam squares.  I like all the little accessories included in this stamp set to personalize the images.

I made a few more and I will maybe post those next week, but this is one that I did for a friend and I loved how it came out.

I used Altenews Persian Motifs stamp set.    I white embossed the image on water color paper and then water colored with distress inks.  I added a few sequins, and the greeting is a wooden stamp and I don't know the manufacturer.:-/ The Distress Inks I used were Faded Jeans, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Peeled Paint and Crushed Olive.

I decided to enter this last card in these challenges:
The Paper Players Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge    and I used the Flowers, Sequins and Dry/Wet Embossing combo.
Hiding In My Craft Room #193 Challenge This is an Any Holiday challenge, and well...my holiday is Easter!  :)

Thanks for coming by and I'll be back soon.....

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge March 2-28

This weeks SPARKS challenge @ Paper Smooches is a Designer Drafts Challenge.

Here is the sketch:
Here is the card I made:
I figured it was about time I made a few more Easter cards.  This is all done with PS Spring Fling stamp set.  I stamped the egg shape on kraft card stock and colored them with colored pencils.  I used a strip of vellum and embossed the sentiment in black for the front of the card.   The bunny and eggs are colored with Copics, fussy cut  and attached to the vellum. I like it. :-)

Thanks for coming by and I'll be back soon.....

Lawnscaping Challenge #102

The challenge for Lawnscaping Challenge #102  is Distress Addict.  I like using distress inks, and need a lot of practice with them. Lol.

Here is what I made:

I distressed strips of white card stock using Tim Holtz Distress Inks in Broken China, Peeled Paint, Worn Lipstick, and Squeezed Lemon.   I die cut the strips with Lawn Fawn's Scalloped Border die, and layered them on the card.    The background is inked with Broken China.  I think my recent Online Card Class influenced this card a bit, I used a lot of dies on it! ;-)  I just think this looks so Spring-y! (not sure if that is a word, oh well)

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back soon.....

OCC Stretch Your Dies-Day 7-Alphabet Dies

Hi,
This is the last day of classes :(   The only alphabet dies I have are all connected on a strip and I wouldn't be able to just die cut 1 or 2 letters at a time, on a card front. (They are on my shopping list, since now I have ideas for them).   I did have number dies so I used them to make a shaker card.

I have a sweet little niece that will soon be one, so I decided to make a card for her.  :)  I die cut the '1' from Paper Smooches Digits die.  This die really looks best when the coordinating stamp is used with it, so I stamped it on the background in a darker pink, and then I added a few white gel pen dots, to make it stand out.  After making a shaker card, I added patterned paper to the background.

I am sorry that this is the last class, but I really learned a lot and can't wait for the next class.

Thanks for coming by and see ya' later.......

OCC Stretch Your Dies-Day 6-Border Dies

It was great learning how to use your border dies for something other than making borders. :-)  I really liked Laura Bassen's card and I LOVE listening to her videos.  Her card was so pretty but I didn't think I had enough time to do it justice today, but will certainly try it at a later date.

This is the card I made:

I used a Lawn Fawn Scalloped Border die and cut strips from patterned paper.  I nestled them together and adhered them on a piece of card stock to make it stable.  Then I die cut a SSS Postage Stamp border in white card stock to frame it.  I used a Memory Box Grapevine Wreath die, and cut it twice in different patterned papers and adhered it on the front, surrounding the SSS Hello die.   When I finished I realized I hadn't stamped anything for this card it was all die cuts!  Fantastic!!

OCC Stretch Your Dies-Day 5-Coordinating Dies

Today's lesson was stamp sets with coordinating dies.  I don't have many sets of these, but in the future I think I will purchase them (if my budget permits!), so much easier than fussy cutting and saves a lot of time.   Recently Wplus9 came out with this darling little elephant stamp set- Unforgettable.  This was out of stock for while and when it came back in stock, the die cut was out of stock!  So it took a few weeks to get both die and stamp set, so of course I wanted to use them right away, and this is the card I made.

Again I did a combo of techniques from today's lesson.  I die cut the image on the front of the card stock, and stamped through the die cut.  I recently got the MISTI, which I have wanted for awhile and finally convinced myself I really needed it!  The MISTI makes this process soooooo much easier. You can position the image and precisely stamp every.single.time.  I colored the image with copics and added some more images inside the card.  I added dots to the balloon with a gel pen.  Did I say I loved this stamp set?  So many potential uses for it.

OCC Stretch Your Dies-Day 4-Mini Dies

Day 4 already, wow!! I don't have a lot of different mini-dies.  Mostly just lots of  little hearts. /-:   I did have a mini die of arrows, but they were all connected in a row, so what I did with them was going to be limited.   Next I found patterned paper that coordinated with the die somewhat and I made this....

I placed the arrow die over the rows on the patterned paper in different places and die cut them.   I attached it to silver card stock so it reflects through the die cuts and then the whole thing went on a card base.  I die cut the 'celebrate' from the silver card stock.  I accented the whole thing with silver sequins.

This is a combo of some of the techniques that I learned today.  I do like the way this turned out and I will use this technique in the future. :-)

Thanks for coming by, see ya tomorrow.

OCC Stetch Your Dies-Day 3-Basic Shape Dies

Hi!
Today's lesson was super, so many new techniques and tips!!  I fell in love with Jennifer McGuire's card.  I knew I had to try and duplicate it.

Jennifer's technique was a  fold out window card.   I used a circle as my basic die.  The idea was to put an image  inside the card, cut out a half circle in each fold, so that the circle meets in the middle enclosing the image, and it peeks out in the front. Any small shape die would work really, I just happened to choose a circle. I think this is a great card and  kids especially would love this card type.
The frog is from Paper Smooches Little Fella, and I used PS Alphadot and Sentiment Sampler for the sentiment.  I colored the frog with copics (I love his smile!)  and added little gems to his crown.

I am going to enter this in Paper Smooches Anything Goes Challenge for March 15-21.

Thanks for stopping by and I'll be back tomorrow.  :)

OCC Stretch Your Dies-Day 2-Flower Dies

Today's lesson was about....flower dies!  All of the techniques today were ones that I had never seen demonstrated before, so yay!!

As soon as I saw Kristina Werner's card I knew that I would have to try this technique.

Kristina's technique was die cuts within a larger die.  I die cut the flowers from paper that I had water colored. The card base is wood grained paper. I did add a frame, something that Kristina didn't do, but to me my card needed something. :)  I do like the way that this turned out.

Thanks for coming by and I am off to practice some of the other techniques I saw today. :)

Online Card Classes-Stretch Your Stamps-Day 1

OCC classes started today.  I couldn't wait to learn more about using dies.  The classes today were fantastic.  Jennifer McGuire, Julie Ebersole and Debby Hughes demonstrated techniques today.  I liked all of the techniques  but especially Julie's and Debby's. :)  I had a little trouble viewing Debby's video demonstration, but later in the day I tried again and I was able to see it.  I was glad that I did, because that is the technique I decided to try.

I didn't have the die that Debby had so I used one of mine that I thought was similar.  The lesson Debby demonstrated was Inlaid Design.

It took some time to get this right, I think it was because of the die I used, but in the end I do like the results.

Have a great day and thanks for coming by.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge March 8-14

This weeks challenge at Paper Smooches is a Picture Perfect Challenge.

Here is the picture (sooooo pretty)!

How great is it that the bird and cat are hangin' together?  :) They are colored with copics.   I used Paper Smooches Chubby Chums, Spring Fling, and Hullabaloo on this card. The Happy Birthday is together on the stamp set, so I masked off (I used a piece of washi tape)  one word, inked the stamp, removed the mask and stamped one word at a time on the balloons. The balloons are a Paper Smooches die, also.    I  used Wink of Stella and Ranger Glossy Accents on the balloons, and for once I can finally see it there!  Can you?

Thanks for stopping by, see ya soon.

CAS(E) this Sketch #113

This weeks challenge on CAS(E) this Sketch features this sketch.

This is a great sketch and I decided to follow it as close as possible.  This is my card.

I stamped the flower on three different panels to give the flower more dimension and then colored it with copics.  This is one of my favorite stamp sets (Blooming Garden from Penny Black) and it can be colored in so many different colors.  I have to say I use it a lot. :)

Thanks for coming by, see ya soon!

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge March 1-7

Well I am just getting this in under the wire for this weeks Paper Smooches SPARKS challenge.  It's been a pretty busy week.  The challenge this week is Anything Goes.

This is the card that I made.

I used the Paper Smooches Duo 2 die.  At first this wasn't going to be a shaker card, but I realized that this die is ideal for a shaker card.  I die cut the Paper Smooches 'celebrate' die from their Birthday Words dies, and then I colored each letter a different color to help it stand out with all the other stuff going on around it.  :)  The flowers are from Paper Smooches Spring Fling stamp set.  The background is wood grained paper that I distressed with Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. All the sequins are from Pretty Pink Posh.  I like this card whether you are celebrating a birthday or Spring!!

Thanks for coming by and see ya soon.

Lawnscaping Challenge #101

Lawnscaping Challenge #101 is all about dots and stripes.

I love all the projects the Lawnscaping design team came up with for this challenge, follow the link above to check them out.

This is the first design I thought of when I read the challenge post.

The background stripe stamp is from Simon Says Stamp,  I love this stamp and don't use it often enough, :)  The flower and leaf images are from Lawn Fawn Friendship Grows stamp set.   I white embossed, fussy cut  and popped them up on foam dots.  The sentiment is also from the same stamp set.  I used Liquid Pearls to highlight the dots on the flowers to make them stand out a little more.  This was a fun card to make, it kinda came all together really quickly.

Thanks for coming by, see ya soon!

Challenge-CAS(E) this Sketch # 112

Hello,
There is a snowstorm happening right now, BUT it is March so hopefully we won't get any more major snowstorms.  I can hope, right?  This is the sketch from  CAS(E) this Sketch #112  for this week.

I like the possibilities of this sketch, and I had a couple of ideas and went with this version.

I used an embossing folder on the bottom half of the card. Next I cut a strip of white cardstock to fit the top of the card and stamped it with a few images.  I diecut the 'thanks' from black cardstock and attached it to the white cardstock.  Lastly I cut a piece of silver cardstock and attached it under the sentiment.

I am going to go daydream about warm weather now. :)

Thanks for coming by...
