For today's lesson the instructors demonstrated a variety of cute and whimsical cards. I have always loved Purple Onion Design's images and these were all designed by Stacey Yakula. They are so cute and whimsical so, of course, I had to make a card using those stamps.
First I stamped the trees in the background, masked them, and then blended in the background with distress ink. The trees, snowman, birds and sign were colored with Copics. I die cut snow hills and placed them on the card front, so the trees appeared in the background. The images were fussy cut and mounted on foam squares. I heat embossed the sentiment in black on the sign. I tried just stamping but it wasn't dark enough. I added clear Wink of Stella to the bird and to the snowman's accessories. The snow is a Marvy Snow Pen, which I dotted all over the background. I put some on the snowman's hat pom pom to make it look fluffy. :) I also added a little white gel pen to the trees so they would look snowy.
Don't you love these images? I love using them on cards.
It is very overcast today so my picture has some shadows, I hope you can see it well enough.
See you soon!
