CAS(E) this Sketch #93 challenge for this week  is this sketch:

 

This is the card I made from the inspiration sketch.

I embossed the sentiment on vellum and attached it to the card base in the back, which is really (for me) the easiest way to attach vellum.  I colored the bird with copics (practicing for online card class next week) and fussy cut it out.  I added the brown thread, greenery and sequins.  It is all mounted on wood grain white card stock.  I hope you like. :)

Copic Coloring

Hello,
I made this card for my daughter and son-in-laws anniversary.  I tried my hand at some copic coloring.  I have colored before but I wanted to get in some extra practice for the new online copic class that I will be starting Monday.  I want to learn the techniques so that (hopefully) I can create some of the beautiful cards that I have seen on my favorite blogs.  Here is the card I made:

I colored the bunnies and the carrots. I like the way it turned out. I don't have a full set of copics and am trying to (slowly) add to my collection!  I just recently purchased some of the gray shades which looks great on the one bunny.

Paper Smooches Sparks Sept. 14-20 Picture Perfect Challenge

Hello,
I am back from vacation, lots of catching up to do!  I had a wonderful time touring Maine and the New England states. It is very beautiful there and I want to go back very soon. :)

Paper Smooches Sparks Sept. 14-20   challenge is Picture Perfect.  The inspiration photo is:

This is the card I made:

I was inspired by the scroll work on the vases in the inspiration photo and tried to replicate it.  I used an embossing folder on vellum, then used an embossing pen to outline the raised lines. Then I heat embossed to highlight the lines using silver and green embossing powders.  I also embossed the greenery that is in the bottles, in three different shades of green. I stamped a vase in a solid color to put behind the vellum vases so that you could see the embossing.

Paper Smooches SPARKS Challenge Sept 7-13

Paper Smooches Sparks Challenge this week is Anything Goes.

 

I think Anything Goes is a great chance to use any and all products on your project.  Today I decided to make a tag, because the stamp set I wanted to use kinda led me there. 

I distressed the tag, then I used a heart stencil to add some white embossing paste to the front of the it.  I stamped the images, fussy cut  and popped them up on some foam dots.  I added some washi tape to bring in more colors.  To tell you the truth I had a lot of trouble with the color scheme for this tag.  I knew I wanted to do the tag in blue, but then nothing else fell into place. I finally came up with one that I was satisfied with though, after many tries. :)

CAS(E) this Sketch #91

Today's card is an entry into CAS(E) this Sketch #91.

The sketch for this week is this:

And this is what I made:

I went for a fall theme, fall is my favorite season so I try to squeeze as much in before it is over, it seems so short sometimes.  Then it is winter. :( I colored some embossing paste with distress ink and used a stencil and embossed the front of the card base.  The leaves are die cut.  There is a vellum tag on top of the other tag.  I outlined a border on the vellum tag with an embossing pen, and used a rust colored embossing powder on it. Tied a bow, added some dots, and mounted on adhesive foam tape.  Hope you like.

Lawnscaping Challenge #89- One Layer

Hello,
I am entering today's post in the new Lawnscaping challenge-One Layer.  Here is the info:
Lawnscaping Challenge #89.

You wouldn't think making a one layer card was a challenge, but it really is.  The urge to put embellishments on cards is very high with me. :)  At one time there was only stamping, and these cards were truly one layer.

This is the card I made:

First I distressed white card stock with a little yellow ink.  I stamped all the monsters with Lawn Fawn's Monster Mash stamp set, and colored them. Seriously are these the cutest!  My goodness.  I stamped the lines with a border stamp from SSS Happy Every Day and used Color Box inks.  I can't find the name on the ink, it is one of those little stacks that I have had forever and I think the name has rubbed off. The colors in this stack are very vibrant and very Halloween-y.   The sentiment and hearts are from the same stamp set. I rounded the bottom corners, because I thought it needed something.

That's it!  All stamping no embellishments, I hope I can recover. :)

 This is the card I decided to make:

I used Paper Smooches Ghoul Friends for the monster, which I stamped in green, added a hat, from the same stamp set, that I colored and set on his head.  I added some googly eyes, it is an obsession really. :)  The die cuts are from Paper Smooches Halloween Icons.  I applied Silver Wink of Stella to the web and the Boo.  You can actually see it a little here which isn't always the case with Wink of Stella in a photo.  They are all attached to a bit of Doodlebug Sprinkles vellum paper.  The silly monster is my fav, love the big grin!!
