Grown With Love

I wanted to get a post done for the last day of The Daily Marker 30 Day Color Challenge #thedailymarker30day.  I am going to post this card on Facebook tomorrow, but had to do my blog post today because I will not have access to a computer tomorrow.

For most of the card I used the images from the March Hero Arts Card Kit.  The images were water colored with Zig Color markers.  The background was colored with distress inks.(Tumbled Glass & Mowed Lawn).   The sentiment (which I love), is from Altenew and is heat embossed in white on slate cardstock.   Everything but the fence is adhered with foam dots.

CAS(E) this Sketch #213

I saw the sketch for this weeks  CAS(E) this Sketch #213. and realized that the card I did for today's #thedailymarker30day color challenge fit this sketch, so I decided to enter the challenge.

I used an older Simon Says Stamp set Abby's Spring Flowers,(it is one of my favorites.)  After coloring the images with  copics, I die cut with matching dies.  The background is colored with distress ink and stenciled with a Hero Arts rain stencil.  I used the Inkylicious Duster blending brushes on the background, they are fabulous.  If you struggle with using blending tools, these are for you.  I love them.  The images are adhered with foam dots.

CAS(E) this sketch #211

Hi,
I am slowly getting back to blogging again.  I just haven't had a lot of time or energy to start on a regular basis, but hope to get in the 'groove' again.

Decided to enter the CAS(E) this Sketch  challenge this week. The sketch is lovely.

Using MFT's Floral Fantasy background stamp I stamped two white cardstock panels.  I colored one half of one panel with Copics .  I fussy cut it to fit the front of the panel.  I cut  fun foam to fit the colored piece and adhered it over the second panel.

The sentiment is heat embossed on black cardstock.

Valentines

I have been making a slew of valentines and birthday cards.  I wanted to share a couple with you today.

The first one is a valentine for my sweet granddaughter.  She loves cats and this Penny Black stamp set is just an adorable one with a lot of cute valentine images.

I water colored using Ranger Distress Inks.  I also used Bristol paper which, I think, takes the water color so much better and is a brighter white.

This is a valentine for my grandson.  This is an older stamp set from Simon Says Stamp.   I stamped, copic colored and cut out the monsters and the little letters. I layered it all on a die cut heart and patterned paper from Crate Paper.

This last one I used a  die cut from Lil' Inker stamps.  I just love their new release.  I die cut it from red paper and white heat embossed the word 'Love' on the hearts.  I then inlaid the die cut on the card front on Crate Paper patterned paper.  I added a few colored epoxy hearts on the front.

It Has Been Awhile.....

I know I have been neglecting this blog for a quite awhile now, but I think ALL my projects will slow down and I will have more time to devote to this blog.  So I did a Happy New Year card and thought it was a good idea to post it as a new start for my blog.

Using black cardstock I stamped the Happy New Year with a Winnie & Walter stamp set    I used Cosmic Shimmer silver paint  and a  fireworks stencil that was included in a SSS card kit last summer.   I embossed with Ranger Silver embossing powder and added sequins from Pretty Pink Posh. It is mounted on a white card base.

OCC Wild Card-Day 5

Today's lesson Gift Giving and Light Up Cards, was fabulous.  Kristina Werner demonstrated how to put a card together using Chibi lights and it was the best turtorial on this process that I have seen and I think I will give it a try.  I never bought any of the components because it looked so complicated.  I chose to do a card demonstrated by Yana S., which was displaying a gift card on the front of the card in a pocket designed to hold it.

I began by using a background stamp and clear embossing the front of the card panel. I die cut the balloons from an Simon Says Stamp die,  copic colored them and added Spectrum Noir Shimmer pen on top, but it is very hard to see here.    I liked this idea and will use it in the future.  I think having the gift card on the front of the card and incorporating it into the card design works well. A lot of steps but worth it if you really want to give it to someone special.

OCC Wild Card Day 4

Very busy yesterday, this is the first time I have had a chance to post what I created for the class.  The emphasis was on shaker cards.  New techniques were posted, which were fantastic, but I didn't have most of the supplies needed.  I did make a shaker card, though.

I kind of followed Kathy R.'s card, using fun foam.  I have made shaker cards with fun foam before and it is easier, to me, then adhesive foam tape.  The little snowflakes are iridescent and they appear pink in this picture, IRL they look the same color as the card. :)  This is a die from Simon Says Stamp. The sequins are from Lucy's Little Things, the mix is called Apple Ice, her sequin combinations are so pretty.
