On line Card Class-Crushing on Cardstock-Day 4

 Today I was very much influenced my Debby Hughes card, it was beautiful.  She demonstrated using touches of color on white or ivory cardstock.  I wanted to bring  a little more color to my card.  I cut the wreath from watercolor cardstock and painted it with distress ink.  I used a piece of water color cardstock and painted the background with a stencil using distress ink.. While all this was drying I die cut greenery and flowers from Tim Holtz cardstock.  I also cut out some leaves with vellum and dry painted them with Distress Ink. I added a sentiment, using foam tape.

I enjoyed making this and  I think I will do more with different design elements.

On Line Card Class-Crushing on Cardstock-Day 3

 Today different techniques were demonstrated using card stock.  I really like the quilling demonstration from Laura Bassen.  I have always like this look, but thought if I bought the tools to do it, would I still like it? Laura demonstrated a quick and easy way to quill, without any extra tools and her card was beautiful.  It does take some time and patience but the results are awesome.  This is what I came up with:

FYI this is a pretty heavy card, lol.  I am not sure if it can be mailed, but it was suggested you put it in a padded envelope to mail if you wanted to.  I liked doing it but not sure if I will do anymore anytime soon. :)  Sorry photo is dark, there is a thunderstorm outside and it is pretty cloudy!

On Line Card Class-Crushing Cardstock Day 2

 Today demonstrations were different ways to use colorful cardstock.  Inlaid patterns were demonstrated in several different ways by the instructors.  I really didn't have any of the dies that were used today, so I used what I had.  Jennifer McGuire demonstrated how to inlay different colored cardstock in a die.  I chose to use this method as an example.  Mine is quite different from hers, I took my own path.  (:

I used a chevron patterned die that cut out all the chevrons.  I cut it from several different colored cardstocks and inlaid all the pieces back into the original die cut, which is cut from kraft cardstock.

I added a greeting and some little fall leaves to complete the card.  All in all I liked doing this, it was sort of like a jigsaw puzzle, that I really love doing.  Also a bonus is that I have all of those chevron backgrounds from the different colored cardstock that I can use for other backgrounds.

On Line Card Class-Crushing Cardstock-Day 1

 First day of OCC was all about using strips of paper to create backgrounds.  A lot of different ways were demonstrated by the instructors.  I chose to do a paper weaving design.  I have to say it was a bit challenging...lol.  I think the last time I weaved paper was in grade school.  I had some issues but I worked them out.

 I think it looks ok, but I definitely need to practice more. I wanted to keep it simple so I didn't cover up the background.

Alcohol Ink Background

Hi, it's been awhile, lots of stuff that was going on, seeing the light at the end of the tunnel now. lol

I made an alcohol ink background and was able to use it on two cards.  I die cut using Simon Says Stamp Cosmo die, and just attached it to the background.  The sentiment is also from SSS. 

I colored the flower with copics, but you could leave it white if you desire.  Pretty clean and simple, it is a start. (-:

WCMD

Thought I would share what am working on currently.  I started to make treat holders for my grandchildren's school classes for their birthdays. Not done yet, hopefully I will finish today.  So I had idea and made this today for one of my grandchildren, and thought I would share what I made for WCMD.    It is a pop up card made with Lawn Fawn Toaster Pop Up die set.  The images are from a couple of sets: Ellen Hutson was used to stamp and die cut the pumpkins and Lil' Inker's Designs dies was used for the pumpkin faces.

The ghost pops up from behind the pumpkins. :-)  My grandson loves interactive cards.  The pumpkins were copic colored, and I added black cardstock to the backs to make the faces stand out.  I ink blended the background, with Tumbled Glass and Mowed Lawn Distress Inks.  Before ink blending, I heat embossed stars in white embossing powder on the background. I also used a white gel pen to add some more stars to the background.  And, the pumpkins are all popped up on foam adhesive, so the ghost can freely pop up.

I used a Postage Stamp die cut and the SSS stamp set Look for the Rainbows.  I gold embossed the leaves, stem and flower, then colored with copics.  I white embossed the sentiment on black.  Both the sentiment and the flower are adhered with foam adhesives.  I added a few sequins to complete the card.
